Yolonda Skelton (Sug-iit-looks) is a visionary fashion/costume designer from the Gitxsan First Nations, Canada, whose work beautifully intertwines her cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics.

Through her work, she aims to honor the traditions passed down through generations while embracing the ever-evolving world of fashion.

Yolonda is a mentor and advocate for inclusivity and empowerment, using her platform to uplift underrepresented voices within the industry.

She works as a Gitxsan fashion designer in film, television, and plays. Her films in costume design include: NFB documentary “Lay Down Your Heart” and Feature Film and Miniseries “Bones of Crows” Directed by Marie Clements, and NFB documentary “WaaPaKe” and feature film “Angela’s Shadow” Directed by Jules Koostachin. Plays include Rosanna Deerchild’s Play “The Secret to Good Tea” Directed by Ranae Morriseau and currently in production, a play called “Beautiful Scars’.
